BattleTech has been around since 1984 when the "Battledroids" board game was released. Since then its universe has expanded into novels, video games, miniatures, toys and even a cartoon series.

Table Top

Catalyst Game Labs

Catalyst Game Labs produces the BattleTech series of board games. You can learn more at Catalyst's "New to BattleTech" page. You can choose your BattleTech experience by playing it as:

- Miniatures game using the Alpha Strike streamlined rules

- Board game - starting with the Quick-Start Rules

- Role playing - Take your MechWarrior into the Machiavellian politics of the Inner Sphere

Catalyst also publishes over 90 BattleTech novels, having sold over two million copies worldwide in over ten languages.

Turn Based Video Game

Harebrained Schemes

After one of the larger Kickstarter campaigns in September 2015, Harebrained Schemes developed the BattleTech turn-based video game, which was released in April 2018. Take command of your own mercenary outfit of 'Mechs and the MechWarriors that pilot them, struggle to stay afloat as you find yourself drawn into a brutal interstellar civil war. Upgrade your star faring base of operations, negotiate mercenary contracts with feudal lords, repair and maintain your stable of aging BattleMechs, and execute devastating combat tactics to defeat your enemies on the battlefield.

Real Time Video Game

Piranha Games

After supporting MWO for years, Piranha Games released the next real time single player BattleTech video game, Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. The year is 3015. The Great Houses of the Inner Sphere have been waging bitter war for over a century. While the battlefields burn with an array of devastating weaponry, none is more formidable than the BattleMech. Skilled Mercenaries have never been in greater demand, and you aim to make your mark. Play by yourself or with three friends.
